Sikorsky Aircraft is the world’s most premier helicopter manufacture of both private and military aircraft. This particular facility is used for the testing of a proprietary feature ear-marked for incorporation into the flight deck of aircraft carriers. The technology will enable pilots to safely land on deck during inclimate weather without deck hands or assistance. There is no other test facility of this kind in the USA that we know of.

Sikorsky Aircraft is the world’s most premier helicopter manufacture of both private and military aircraft. This particular facility is used as a destructive test bed for the failure modes of the Blackhawk helicopter blade and transmission components. This test bed will withstand rotational speeds that define the failure mode of the components while safely encasing the hardware at failure mode. There is no other test facility of this kind in the USA that we know of.
Pratt & Whitney Engine Test Stand C-11 Modifications

CKA provided structural and site civil design for the repair and modifications to the existing structural slab and surrounding land. Pratt & Whitney operates an acoustical gas turbine engine test stand that over 30 years was in need of structural repair and modifications. CKA provided expansion joint repair details and concrete restoration that prevented the need for major replacement and system down time for the owner.

CKA provided structural and mechanical design, and construction management for this very visible aerospace project serving national interests and one of only two facilities with Ramair test capabilities in the US. Pratt & Whitney contracted with CKA to design, permit, and oversee a large Ramair test facility that provides large volumetric flowrate of compressed air to the inlet of military gas turbine engines thus simulating supersonic flight conditions at sea level. This project included, large compressors, air ducting, heat exchangers, cooling tower, pumping stations, piping, controls, and all appurtenances.

CKA provided design and construction management services for this state-of-the-art engine test facility located in Jupiter, FL. Pratt & Whitney is entering the power generation industry using gas turbine technology. CKA provided the structural engineering package and construction management not at risk for this state of the art test stand. The design incorporates heavy solid concrete construction and dissipates extremely large loads associated with mounting a gas turbine of this size. This is one of very few aerospace facilities of its kind in the United States.
